We have some amazing talent on display that will be sure to entertain and enlighten on Jan 14. We’re lucky to have Radwan Mohamed and Ahmed Knowmadic on our organizing team. They’re both heavily involved with the local Breath in Poetry Collective and regulars at Rouge Poetry on Tuesday evenings.

Radwan is passionate about spoken word and enjoys encouraging and developing promising young artists. He is frequently a respected judge at the poetry slams at Rouge Poetry. He knows the local scene well and knows what artists can bring to the show. He acted as the main liaison with spoken word poets at the first show and we were delighted that he accepted our invite to join the organizing team this year.

Ahmed Ali, aka Knowmadic, is our showcase feature act in the spoken word show. He is one of the organizers of the Breath in Poetry Collective which is the main conduit for the local spoken word scene. He was one of the representatives chosen for Team Edmonton for the 2011 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word. They are the new champions, beating out 20 teams from across the nation. Ahmed Knowmadic also won individual honours for most quotable line at the competition. news article: City of Poetic Champions
